It Takes Courage to be an Elite Player

Courage comes from the Latin word cor, which means "heart." Players who exhibit courage are often given the ball, told to shoot it, and trusted when it matters most. You always hear coaches telling their players they have to have heart.

Your ability to face your fears will make all the difference in your game. It’s not easy to be the one to bring the ball up the floor every possession and get the team into its offense. It’s never easy to be the one to score the ball when the team needs a big basket.

You will overcome your fears by betting on yourself and doing the work. You can start small: take one shot per half of each game you have already worked on. You use one move you have continued to work on in training and apply that when appropriate.

You’re not out to prove others wrong, rather you’re out to prove yourself right.
